A small business with a very personal purpose.
Made by a Family. Inspired by Rafe.
Thoughtful 3D-printed toys and keepsakes that help fund Rafe's care and education — and build paid opportunities for people with Down syndrome and other disabilities.
Ranting&Rafing began with our family, a love of making things, and a question: What could we build today that might open doors for our son tomorrow?
Our son, Rafe, has Down syndrome. We started this business to help fund his specialized care, therapy, and education while building something he might one day choose to be part of.
We’re a for-profit, family-run business. We put care into the things we make, and our profits help us provide for Rafe and invest in the future we’re working toward.
For now, that means learning, creating, filling orders, and getting a little better with every print. Over time, we hope it means opportunities that reach well beyond our own family

Let customers speak for us
Made to Keep. Made to Be Yours.
Little worlds deserve thoughtful craftsmanship. We’re building our material selection around detailed finishes, durable components, and the right amount of flexibility—creating keepsakes meant to be enjoyed long after the wrapping paper is gone.
The right material for each little detail
Matte PLA — for a beautiful finish
A soft, low-shine appearance makes matte PLA a natural fit for miniature homes, barns, and landscapes. It lets the shapes and colors take center stage.
Tough PLA — for added resilience
Toughened PLA formulations offer improved toughness compared with standard PLA. We plan to use them where rigid components could benefit from greater resistance to bumps and handling.
PETG — for hardworking components
PETG offers toughness and generally better heat resistance than standard PLA. It’s an option for parts that need extra resilience, depending on the design.
TPU — for a little give
This flexible, rubber-like material is useful where bending or cushioning makes more sense than rigidity, such as protective feet or selected flexible details.
Materials will be selected for each project; not every model will contain all four.
