Industrial-Grade Parts & Custom 3D Printing
Built on more than 10 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, engineering, and manufacturing, owner Curtis McGehee brings a practical understanding of how parts need to fit, function, and perform.
We offer custom 3D printing for functional components, fixtures, prototypes, and production needs. Through our partnership with Summit Manufacturing Systems, we can incorporate precise dimensional measurement—including coordinate measuring machine (CMM) inspection—and develop repeatable quality processes to verify results against project requirements. This helps us produce consistent parts with performance that can be checked and documented. Inspection and material selection are project-specific; not every order includes CMM inspection.
Have a part or project in mind? Send us your drawing, 3D model, or a description of what you need. Include quantities, intended use, critical dimensions or tolerances, and your timeline so we can review the project and discuss the right approach.
Practical solutions for real-world challenges
Have a part you need to replace, a prototype to develop, or a workflow that could use a purpose-built tool? Ranting & Rafing welcomes custom 3D-printing inquiries for workshop, business, and industrial applications.
This is the practical side of our printing work: custom parts and problem-solving projects, separate from our toys and household designs.
Projects to discuss
- Custom parts: Explore brackets, adapters, mounts, spacers, covers, and enclosures designed around your application.
- Jigs and fixtures: Discuss alignment guides, positioning aids, and tools for repeatable tasks.
- Prototypes: Evaluate a concept's shape, fit, and assembly before moving to the next stage.
- Replacement components: Explore whether a non-safety-critical part can be recreated from measurements, reference photos, or an existing design.
- Custom solutions: Tell us what isn't working and what a better solution needs to do.
Start with your requirements
When requesting a quote, include:
- What the part does and where it will be used.
- Dimensions, required fit, and any critical tolerances.
- Photos, sketches, or available design files.
- Expected loads, temperatures, moisture, chemical exposure, and indoor or outdoor use.
- Quantity and target timeline.
Project feasibility, material selection, pricing, and turnaround need to be confirmed for each request before an order is agreed.
Application matters
Industrial use does not automatically mean a printed part is certified or suitable for every environment. Strength, heat resistance, accuracy, and service life depend on the material, design, printing process, and operating conditions. Safety-critical, load-bearing, or regulated applications require appropriate engineering review and validation.
